Mobi3Con - Developing mobile 3D data collection, processing and dissemination solution for construction SME-s.
The Mobi3Con project will provide an inexpensive, robust handheld solution for easy 3D data management at the construction site.
Mobi3Con project is developing UWB positioning system and 3D software solution. The handheld unit is a tool for everyday use on construction site. It will be used for data collection, processing and visualisation. The hand-held unit also has task management and other important tools for on-site management, such as distributor contacts and mainly, the construction drawings.
The project is heavily BIM (Building Information Model) driven and it aims to implement quite a large bit of it into a real life use. At the moment BIM is not so much used during the construction phase as it is during the design phase and our solution will improve the usage of the BIM on site.
In the construction industry, so much engineering and management time is wasted because of incorrect initial information or communication shortages. We aim that our solution could save the sector/industry € 6.2bn annually and reduce design deviations in construction SMEs that cost an estimated € 2.8bn in annual maintenance. This all concludes that there is a strong market pull for the device.
The consortium of Mobi3Con project has 9 partners from 6 different countries. Total budget of the project is 2.2 million €.
